“Fuller of tripe than the inside of a cow.” PDF Print E-mail
Written by Cobina
Thursday, 23 October 2008
Sweetie, there is very little to git my goat, over the years Cobina has seen it all, sometimes twice. But, I hafta say that even this takes the cake – not to mix our metaphors. It was a missive from the incoming Democratic Registrar of Voters that set Cobina off. It’s a letter that won’t see the light of day in this papyrus. It is, to quoth the late Colby Driessens “Fuller of tripe than the inside of a cow.”
To say that it is a personal attack is without question. To say the woman who penned the note is clueless is to be an understatement. Her pique is leveled at the budget foist of all. It seems there won’t be any postcards sent out this election telling people where they’re to vote.

Well, effen she bothered to look, she’d have found out there haven’t been postcards in the last six elections. Why? The budget. The budget that she’s tryin’ to blame on Chuckles Marino, but the one she should blame on the husband of her benefactor and mentor. He’s the one that trimmed that budget seven years ago in a fit of political payback, and it ain’t been the same since, especially since the city is in financial straits.

Chuckles made up budgets that were realistic. We saw them. They were cut, and didn’t pay for the number of elections, both regular and primary that were called. Maybe she’ll have more success. After all, she’s the flavor of the month for the Demmy leadership.

Her other complaints are equally off the wall. It ain’t that her facks are wrong, it’s that her conclusions are silly. She’s very complimentary of the GOP Registrar, but she should ask how much work is put on the Demmy desk each day…unopened or just plopped. Y’see the GOP Registrar don’t have an assistant. So, guess who has to do all the woik?

Let’s jest say if she’s gonna be this clueless goin’ inta office, she’s gonna get a quick education. She’s at the top o’ the political heap now. Wait. It all comes down sooner or later. As far as her letter, she can photocopy it and pass it out. This woman is sooooooo behind the eight ball and the people behind her for the most part are not clueless, they’re just bad.

~~~
By the by, Cobina was wrong JoAnn Callegari didn’t resign her post…at least not officially. She retained the Registrar’s position for the GOP when she had to make a choice, and is hopin’ to git the job back. Of course, methinks we’re inta word games here. Effen she chose one over t’other that’s a resignation, right? Oh well, whatever…
~~~

So the Office o’ Policy and Management don’t wanna pull back the fine they levied against the city for being late on the audit. Don’t git me wrong, but Iyam beginnin’ to agree with Madame Olga who has been saying all along this is getting personal.

She’s convinced the OPM people are quite miffed that people keep bringing up the fack that when they were asked about the legality/advisability of the bonding the city was doing about five years back, they punted. Don’t forgit too, Olga sez, the ex-hizzoner still has a lotta friends up there in the capital city.

I ain’t one for conspiracy theories, but I’m beginning to smell one here.

~~~
This thing about the UNH Law School? Sweets, I gotta say that the more I read the story in our papyrus and that in t’other rags, all I could come up with was a definite maybe. The Law School is definite…maybe. It will be more definite when the funding is secured, when the faculty is got, when the plans are made.
In this economy, methinks it is a bit premature to have this thing as anything other than a definite maybe. It looks good. It’ll certainly help the Elm Street area and the downtown, but I wouldn’t wanna hang fer as long as I’d hafta wait fer it to open. Get m’drift?
~~~

On t’other hand I see we had another Economic Summit at the Savin Rock Conference Center. This is another one o’ them kaffee klatches hizzoner is puttin’ together in order to drum up interest.

Sammy Bluejay keeps hintin’ that something is in the woiks, but he don’t git any more detailed than that. He won’t say where the announcement is supposed to be, about what or anything else. I

I will say that after Sammy said somethin’ to Cobina, she’s hoid a few rumbling about “something big” comin’ down the pike. But she’s from Missouri on the one. We’ve got plenty o’ front pages on our walls down here in the office that show “something big” that went bust. As much as we hope its true, we also know hizzoner plays his cards sooooo close to his vest, yew’d hafta pry them with the jaws o’ life.

When and if it happens, Iyam sure we’ll find out. Jest don’t hold yore breath waiting.

~~~
I hear-tell that Timmy Wrightington has packed it in on the Ethics Committee, and that’s a bad thing. Timmy has been very frustrated that the administration won’t go after the former administration for the tom-foolery with the bonding.
Hizzoner ain’t convinced he could git anywhere. Timmy thinks he should try. Y’see Timmy’s right as far as the statutes and the City Charter, but bring it inta court and there is no better than 50-50 chance the city could win. And if they do then what?
It’s really too bad cuz he was a good member o’ that group. It’ll be interestin’ to see whot happens. Don’t think Timmy’s gonna keep quiet. That ain’t ever gonna happen
With that bit o’ chatter, I’ll close mitt luff und kizzez,
